Imbued with Uncle Ho's teaching "Emulation is patriotism, patriotism means emulation", in the period of 2010 - 2015, in the context of the new separation to establish Thai Hoa Town, Nghia Dan district faced many initial difficulties in socio-economic infrastructure and working conditions of district-level departments and branches that had to be rented and dispersed. In that condition, under the leadership and direction of the District Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee and the efforts of all classes of people, the patriotic emulation movement still took place vigorously and widely, creating the driving force to successfully carry out the tasks of socio-economic development, national defense and security.

The movement that has attracted the largest number of people to participate is "Farmers compete in production, good business, unite to help each other get rich and reduce poverty sustainably", which has grown stronger and stronger, has a great influence in all fields of agricultural, forestry, fishery, handicraft and service production, becoming a focal point in rural socio-economic life; attracting and encouraging hundreds of farming households to promote the spirit of hard work, creativity, dare to think, dare to do to effectively implement the policies of the Party and the State. Many models, typically ordinary people, have surpassed themselves, known how to promote favorable conditions, apply scientific and technological advances, grasp the market to create many products for society.

In that colorful flower garden, we can mention typical examples such as: the comprehensive model of Mr. Truong Dinh Thong's household, Nam Thang hamlet (Nghia Long commune), which brings in an annual income of over 600 million VND; the comprehensive business service model of construction materials, mechanical repair, transportation, snakehead fish farming... of Mr. Le Tien Dam's family, Tan Hong block (Nghia Dan town), after deducting expenses, the average income is from 600 - 700 million VND/year; once a poor household, but Mr. Nguyen Van Huan, Dap Danh hamlet (Nghia Loc commune) has risen up by raising pigs for meat, bringing in an income of 300 million VND/year... There are many other models and good practices that have created a driving force in the movement of good production and business in the area. From the whole district having only 2,013 good production and business farming households, the number has now increased to 4,550 households, reaching a rate of 226%. Many units have a high rate of households registering and achieving the title of "Good Farmer and Businessman", typically the communes of Nghia Hieu, Nghia Khanh, Nghia Loc, Nghia Phu...

In addition to the Farmers' Association with a large number of members, mass organizations and socio-political organizations have launched emulation movements of a specific nature, creating a widespread influence. The Women's Union with the movement "Women actively study, work, create, build happy families" with the number of registered members reaching 92.76%. Specifically, through the reality of emulation movements such as "Women compete to help each other overcome poverty, develop the economy, strive to become rich legitimately" with 100% of poor households being helped with capital, knowledge, working days... built 450 economic development models with income from 50 million VND or more; especially successfully built brocade weaving models, mushroom growing models, established "Women's Business Club", creating conditions for women members to interact, meet, exchange experiences...

The Association of War Veterans and its members promote the nature and fine traditions of "Uncle Ho's soldiers", actively participate in building a strong Party and government, strengthen national unity, resolutely fight against wrong views and plots of hostile forces; at the same time, uphold the spirit of self-reliance, promote the movement "Veterans help each other reduce poverty, do good business", actively participate in economic, cultural and social development programs of the locality and the country. The Youth Union and its members continue to carry out well the movements "5 shockwaves for socio-economic development" and "4 accompaniments with young people to establish themselves and start a business", increasingly affirming their role and important pioneering force in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.

The movements "Teach well, learn well" and "Family of encouraging learning" in education have improved the quality of teaching and learning both widely and in key areas. There are 159 students achieving high scores in provincial and higher level exams, more than 50 excellent teachers at the provincial level and 500 excellent teachers at the district level; The movement "Good workers, creative workers" launched by the District Labor Federation with specific, rich and practical topics such as: promoting technical innovation initiatives, practicing thrift, green - clean - beautiful movement, labor safety and hygiene... has also had over 500 topics and initiatives at the district level, of which 10 initiatives have been recognized at the provincial level with popular value and effective application in practice... Furthermore, the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life in residential areas, live a good life and follow the religion" has appeared in many parishes, some typical individuals in creating a green, clean and beautiful environment such as: Nghia Thanh Parish, Con Ca Parish, Dong Tam Parish... From the launch of the movement "Doing many good deeds" has appeared many examples of village elders, village chiefs, prestigious people among ethnic minorities such as: Mr. Hoang Dinh Thuc (Nghia Mai commune), Mr. Vi Van Cuong, Mr. Luong Danh Tinh (Nghia Hoi commune), Mr. Le Van Xung (Nghia Thanh commune). Thanks to the extensive promotion of the patriotic emulation movement, in the context of the newly separated district still facing many difficulties, Nghia Dan district has overcome to achieve comprehensive great results: The average annual economic growth rate reached 14.04%; the average income per capita from 16 million VND (in 2010) now reaches 21.94 million VND/person/year; the budget revenue increased from 16,458 million VND to 56,000 million VND; the total investment in the whole society during the period increased from 850 billion VND to 3,500 billion VND; the total food output increased from 35,320 tons to 47,250 tons; The poverty rate decreased from 18% to 7.87%... After 4 years of implementing the National Target Program on New Rural Construction, the total mobilized resources for the entire period reached 2,218 billion VND. Currently, there are 5 communes meeting 15-18 criteria, striving to have 5 communes meeting new rural standards in 2015.

Thanks to the strong socio-economic development, including the important contribution of the patriotic emulation movement, Nghia Dan has become an attractive address for investors, the greatest achievement of which is the effective implementation of the TH Group's industrial-scale concentrated dairy farming project. After more than 5 years of implementation, the project has created new prospects not only for Nghia Dan but also for the whole Western Nghe An region, increasing the ability to use new technology to increase the value of land use efficiency, creating jobs for thousands of workers with stable income. In addition to the dairy farming project, in the district, TH Group and Bac A Bank have been investing in a number of other projects such as: Clean vegetable growing project, Medicinal plant growing project, MDF wood processing project... In particular, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development is submitting to the Government for planning in the district a high-tech agricultural area to improve the efficiency of using hilly land, red basalt soil in Phu Quy and the Western region.

Comprehensive achievements in all areas from promoting the patriotic emulation movement in the period of 2010 - 2015 are creating new positions and strengths for Nghia Dan to accelerate development in the next 5-year period (2015 - 2020). The goal and orientation is to continue to attract and mobilize investment resources to create an important shift in economic development, especially in high-tech agricultural production associated with agricultural and forestry processing. Promote the construction of infrastructure for key projects, the district center and essential projects associated with the implementation of the national goal of building new rural areas. Take care of building Nghia Dan people to develop comprehensively; build and consolidate a strong political system; ensure solid national defense, maintain political security, social order and safety. Some specific basic targets are: Average annual growth rate of 15 - 16%; Economic structure by proportion: agriculture - forestry - fishery accounts for 40%, industry - construction 35% and services 25%; total production value 3,792,882 million VND; average income per capita: 41.38 million VND/year; budget revenue 100 billion VND; number of communes meeting new rural standards: 12 communes (50%).

It can be said that the tasks set out in the 5-year period (2015 - 2020) are extremely heavy, requiring each cadre, party member, and citizen in each field to make great efforts and determination to complete the common task. In particular, it is necessary to continue to thoroughly grasp and seriously implement President Ho Chi Minh's patriotic emulation ideology; continue to effectively implement Directive 39/CT-TW dated May 21, 2004 of the Politburo on continuing to innovate, promote the patriotic emulation movement, discover, foster, summarize and multiply advanced models in all fields; strengthen coordination with media and press agencies to propagate, commend and promptly reward collectives and individuals with many good achievements. Reward to the extent of achievements, not chasing after quantity or form. Launching and organizing patriotic emulation movements must be associated with the Campaign "Studying and following Ho Chi Minh's moral example" to create strong changes in the awareness and actions of Party committees at all levels, authorities, departments, branches, organizations, cadres, Party members and the entire population.
