"Messengers" of inspiration
(Baonghean) - Driven by a desire to become an "ambassador" inspiring a passion for foreign languages in everyone, Nguyen Thi Hoa (born in 1988), a graduate of the Foreign Trade University, has established five reputable English language centers in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, earning an enviable income.
Nguyen Thi Hoa is the fourth of five sisters in a family known for their academic excellence in Hamlet 13, Quynh Thach Commune (Quynh Luu District). After graduating from Phan Boi Chau Specialized High School, Hoa chose to major in International Economics, one of the most sought-after majors at the Foreign Trade University at the time. During her four years as a student, Hoa often volunteered to teach English at the Huu Nghi Children's Village, hoping to help underprivileged children; she also taught English in the evenings to gain more experience.

After graduating, Hoa got a job at a non-governmental organization. After more than six months, Hoa realized it wasn't the work she was passionate about. So she quit and applied to teach English at a reputable language center in the capital. And there, Hoa realized that teaching foreign languages was her true passion.
Thanks to her inspiring teaching methods that ignite a passion for English in her students, Hoa is beloved by her pupils. Despite having a good job that aligns with her passion, Hoa is still not satisfied. She wants to share her passion for English and help more people realize their dream of mastering the language. In mid-2012, after a period of planning, Hoa created a free TOEIC learning website for everyone. The website received great attention upon its launch. mshoatoeic.com shares free English learning and exam preparation experiences, allowing students to perform tasks such as online listening, online exercises, and online scoring.
Not only that, Hoa also started a blog on this website with personal stories, allowing people to get to know and understand her better. After building her "brand," Hoa decided to open an English language center. To fund the classes, Hoa and her sister had to borrow a large sum of money from their parents to rent a space, buy desks and chairs, and purchase teaching equipment.
Besides directly teaching classes, Hoa also established an English club to share experiences and connect people with a passion for English. These innovative approaches have made learning English more engaging for students, and the Ms Hoa TOEIC brand has become increasingly well-known. “I don’t set goals for learning English to secure a bright future, but rather I often share with students that English is beautiful and has so much for them to discover. Learning English is about finding the beauty of the language, so learn it with your heart and give it love,” Hoa shared.
Thanks to her effective teaching methods, more and more students flocked to Hoa's classes. Realizing that she couldn't do it alone, Hoa thought she needed to recruit more "ambassadors" of inspiration (i.e., teachers) and open more classes.
Ms Hoa's teacher selection process is also unique. To be inspiring "ambassadors" at Ms Hoa TOEIC, English teachers selected by Hoa must be young, modern, have their own style, and most importantly, be inspiring to learn English. To date, Ms Hoa TOEIC has nearly 40 young, dynamic, and enthusiastic "ambassadors" teaching in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
After establishing a strong position in the capital, Hoa felt she needed to expand further. In 2014, Hoa opened two English language centers in Ho Chi Minh City. After three years of operation, from an initial single class, Ms Hoa TOEIC, owned by Hoa, now has five branches in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
Currently, Hoa also sponsors several English public speaking competitions for students at various universities and colleges. Speaking about the path to success, the Director of Ms. Hoa TOEIC English Center affirms: “Being good at English doesn't automatically guarantee success. But if you have English skills and know how to seize opportunities, chances will never pass you by. Learning English isn't as difficult as you think; what matters is how you strive and what learning methods you use. I believe that with courage, determination, and a little luck, you can definitely achieve your dreams!”
In the future, along with improving the teaching quality of teachers – the "ambassadors" who inspire – Hoa will provide more in-depth training in the two TOEIC English skills (speaking and writing), and open more conversational English classes so that students can further improve their English abilities. In particular, Hoa and her "ambassadors" will continuously strive for improvement to live up to their mission of "inspiring" others.
