Comrade Le Hong Anh wishes a happy traditional Bunpimay New Year in Laos

According to the VNA correspondent in Laos, on the morning of April 13 at the Presidential Palace of the Lao People's Democratic Republic in the capital Vientiane, the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party held a wrist-tying ceremony for comrade Le Hong Anh, Politburo member, Permanent member of the Central Secretariat of the Communist Party of Vietnam, his wife and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation who are visiting, working and celebrating the traditional Bunpimay New Year in Laos from April 11-13.

Attending the ceremony were Politburo member, Permanent member of the Secretariat of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Central Committee, Vice President of the Lao People's Democratic Republic Bounhang Volachit and his wife, Politburo member, Deputy Prime Minister of Laos Khamphan Vilayvan, Politburo member, Deputy Prime Minister of Laos Bunpon Buttanavong and many high-ranking officials of the Lao central and local governments.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Head of the Lao Central Committee for External Relations Thongsavan Phomvihane said that the wrist-tying ceremony is a traditional custom imbued with Lao culture. Whenever distinguished guests come to their home, Lao people perform a wrist-tying ceremony to bless the guests. Today's ceremony is to express the affection of the Lao Party, State and people of all ethnic groups towards the Standing Secretary of the Secretariat Le Hong Anh and his wife, along with the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation.

Standing member of the Secretariat Le Hong Anh respectfully conveyed the warm regards and New Year wishes of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and President Truong Tan Sang to General Secretary and President of Laos Chummaly Sayasone; Mr. Bounhang Volachit and other senior leaders of the Lao Party, State and people; and expressed his gratitude to the senior leaders of the Lao Party and State for giving the delegation a very respectful, warm, friendly and thoughtful welcome.

In a warm atmosphere filled with comradeship, the leaders of the Lao Party and State came to congratulate and tie a thread around the wrists of Standing Secretary of the Secretariat Le Hong Anh and his wife, along with the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation.

Previously, at the Presidential Palace of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, Standing Secretary of the Secretariat Le Hong Anh and his wife received the delegation of Savannakhet Provincial Leaders, led by Governor Suphan Keomisay.

Standing member of the Secretariat Le Hong Anh expressed his joy at welcoming the leaders of Savannakhet province, the hometown of President Kaysone Phomvihane and many senior leaders of the Lao Party and State, a province rich in revolutionary traditions.

Standing member of the Secretariat Le Hong Anh conveyed to the leaders of the Party, Government and people of Savannakhet province the best wishes on the occasion of the traditional Bunpimay New Year of the Lao people; congratulated the important achievements in all fields that the Party, Government and people of Savannakhet province have achieved in the past time; highly appreciated the increasingly effective mutual assistance and cooperation results between Savannakhet province and provinces and cities of Vietnam in the past time and hoped that in the coming time, Savannakhet province will continue to cooperate closely with provinces and cities of Vietnam, making an important contribution to consolidating and strengthening the special solidarity relationship between Vietnam and Laos in an increasingly practical and effective manner in all fields.

Standing member of the Secretariat Le Hong Anh expressed his gratitude to the Party Committee, Government and people of Savannakhet province for helping Vietnam in the past struggle for national liberation as well as in the current cause of national renovation, construction and protection; affirmed that the Party, State and people of Vietnam will do their utmost together with the Party, State and people of Laos to preserve and foster the special solidarity between Vietnam and Laos, which will forever be a priceless asset of the two peoples and an important factor ensuring the victory of each country's revolutionary cause.

On the same morning, Standing member of the Secretariat Le Hong Anh and his wife, along with the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation, visited Star Telecom Company (Unitel), a joint venture between Lao Asia Telecom and Vietnam's Viettel Group, a model of effective economic cooperation between Laos and Vietnam.

On behalf of the leaders of the Party and State of Vietnam, Standing member of the Secretariat Le Hong Anh praised the efforts of the collective leadership, officers and employees of the Company in both performing well the tasks of production and business in the telecommunications sector in Laos, while promoting social security work and making practical contributions to the socio-economic development of Laos, promoting the traditional friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.

Standing member of the Secretariat Le Hong Anh hopes that during the investment process, the company's staff and workers will always be fully aware of and imbued with President Ho Chi Minh's teaching: "Helping friends is helping yourself", always maintaining the title of the leading telecommunications unit in Laos and continuing to do well in social security work to help Laos.
