Vinh City People's Committee: Launching the Citizen Reception Committee

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of December 9, Vinh City People's Committee held a ceremony to announce the decision to establish and launch the City Citizen Reception Committee. Attending were Mr. Nguyen Xuan Sinh - Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Committee; Vice Chairmen of the city, representatives of the Provincial Citizen Reception Committee, the provincial inspectorate and city departments and branches.

Implementing the Law on Citizen Reception, the City Citizen Reception Committee has the function of being an advisory body to assist the leaders of the City People's Committee in organizing regular and periodic citizen receptions to receive citizens' recommendations, reflections, complaints and denunciations in accordance with the provisions of law. At the same time, it is the focal point for receiving, classifying and proposing the handling of petitions and letters of complaint according to the procedures of the Law on Complaints and Denunciations. The Committee also has the task of monitoring and urging the progress of handling petitions and letters of agencies and units, reporting the results to the leaders of the City People's Committee and competent agencies of the city.

Vinh City People's Committee has decided to appoint Mr. Chu Van Mai - Chairman of Le Mao Ward People's Committee to hold the position of Deputy Chief of Office of the People's Committee and Head of the City's Citizen Reception Committee. Speaking at the launching ceremony, Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Xuan Sinh emphasized: The establishment of the Citizen Reception Committee will contribute significantly to improving the quality of citizen reception and handling of petitions and complaints of the City in the coming time. Therefore, it is recommended that members of the Citizen Reception Committee promote their sense of responsibility and play a good role as a bridge between citizens and leaders, city departments, branches and competent authorities.
