The Legal Affairs Committee of the Provincial People's Council implements its tasks for the second quarter.
(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of April 17th, the Legal Affairs Committee of the Provincial People's Council held a meeting to summarize its activities in the first quarter and approve key tasks for the second quarter. Comrade Nguyen Huu Lam, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Department, and Head of the Legal Affairs Committee of the Provincial People's Council, chaired the meeting.
The delegates spent considerable time reviewing the Committee's performance in the first quarter, focusing on monitoring the enforcement of laws in the resolution and adjudication of civil cases by People's Courts at all levels in the province. The majority of delegates agreed with the Draft Report and added several specific recommendations and proposals, such as: focusing on classifying and analyzing the causes of overdue and complex civil cases to find definitive solutions; enhancing the responsibility of agencies and organizations, especially specialized agencies under the People's Committees at all levels, in providing evidence; and strengthening coordination between the Department of Justice, as the advisory body assisting the Provincial People's Committee in managing state-run legal aid activities, and the Courts to facilitate access to state-run legal aid services for impoverished citizens.

In the first quarter, the Committee participated in monitoring and survey teams of the Provincial People's Council, compiled a report on the implementation of recommendations following monitoring and surveys conducted by the Committee from the beginning of the term to the end of 2014, and studied solutions to expedite the implementation of unfulfilled recommendations; it also actively participated in legislative activities...
Regarding key tasks for the second quarter, these include completing the report on the results of monitoring the enforcement of laws in the resolution and adjudication of civil cases; developing and implementing a plan to survey the work of criminal sentence enforcement and amnesty; participating in the Provincial People's Council Standing Committee's monitoring team to oversee the implementation of recommendations following monitoring and conclusions from questioning sessions of the Provincial People's Council; preparing for the 14th session of the Provincial People's Council; and contributing opinions to the drafting of laws…
