Detecting a facility producing fake beer with famous brands' labels

Ho Chi Minh City police have just busted a counterfeit production ring, discovering thousands of bottles of fake beer bearing famous labels, ready to be put on the market.

On the afternoon of April 12, the Department of Investigation Police on Economic Management and Position Crimes (PC46) of Ho Chi Minh City Police said that PC46 coordinated with Tan Phu District Police to suddenly raid house number 378/1A, Thoai Ngoc Hau Street, Phu Thanh Ward, Tan Phu District and caught red-handed 4 subjects producing fake beer including: Tran Van Nam (born in 1985), Phan Van Ly Em (born in 1986), Tran Van Nghiem (born in 1996) and Tran Thi My Tien (born in 1998, all residing in An Giang province, temporarily residing in Tan Phu District).

Immediately after the four subjects were arrested, based on their statements, the police arrested the organizer and owner of this fake beer production facility, Tran Phu Long (born in 1982, from An Giang province). At the investigation agency, Long and his accomplices confessed that they had been producing fake beer under the brand names of famous brands. Long hired people from the same hometown and relatives to make fake beer with the purpose of keeping quiet and avoiding detection.

During a search of this counterfeit beer production facility, the police seized a large amount of evidence, including 6,800 beer bottles of various types, more than 1,600 fake finished beer bottles of famous brands, 6.8 kg of various beer bottle caps, 1 bottle capping machine, 1 truck and many machines and equipment for the production of counterfeit beer./.
