(Baonghean.vn) - On Tuesday, March 24th, a Germanwings A320 aircraft carrying 144 passengers and 6 crew members crashed in the French Alps.

The black box of the A320 aircraft was also found late in the afternoon of March 24th. The black box has not yet been analyzed, but it holds hope for finding answers to the cause of this tragic accident.

At the scene, authorities mobilized 380 firefighters, over 300 police officers, two medical emergency units, 15 helicopters, and two military aircraft to participate in the search. The French government also set up a chapel in a gymnasium in Seyne-les-Alpes, a few kilometers from the accident site.

The list and nationalities of most of the victims have also been identified. The majority of the victims on the flight were Spanish and German. According to French authorities, among the passengers there may have been other nationalities; so far, there has been at least one Belgian, two Australians (a mother and daughter), possibly some Turkish nationals, but no French nationals on the flight.

Currently, helicopters will continue to be deployed until the end of the day. Five police officers will spend the night at the accident site to secure the scene, while approximately 50 others will travel by road to reach the accident area at an altitude of 1,600 to 2,500 meters. The search will resume around 5:30 to 6:00 local time.

Access to the crash site is very difficult. According to Frédéric Petitjean, one of the people who arrived at the crash site this morning, the plane is located on the Trois-Évêchés mountain, more precisely in the Galèbre valley at an altitude of 1600-2500m. The area is surrounded by rocky outcrops and is very difficult to access. The unstable ground could also pose a danger to rescue workers. It is known that, in addition to the difficulties in accessing the crash site, bad weather is also hindering rescue efforts. It continues to rain in the Seyne-les-Alpes area, and the weather forecast predicts snowfall in the city tomorrow.
