The recall affects certain Fiesta, Fusion and Lincoln MKZ models.
Last week, the American automaker decided to recall about 390,000 vehicles of the three models in the North American market due to a similar problem. Specifically, the driver's door may not latch while the vehicle is moving, thereby increasing the risk of injury.
The company has received reports of two incidents related to this issue where an unlatched vehicle door slammed onto the driver and one incident where an unlatched vehicle door opened and struck another vehicle.
The American automaker said the vehicles subject to the recall were produced at Ford's plants in Mexico, including the 2012-2014 Fiesta, 2013-2014 Fusion and 2013-2014 Lincoln MKZ.
About 86% of the recalled vehicles are registered in the US, the rest are in the Mexican and Canadian markets./.
