Recently, Tuong Duong district has focused its resources on the "For the Poor" Fund to support many families in building solidarity houses, promptly encouraging them to stabilize their lives…

The family of Ms. Lo Thi Chau, residing in Luu Phong village, Luu Kien commune (Tuong Duong district), is one of the households facing particularly difficult circumstances. Seven family members, suffering from various illnesses, lived in a makeshift shack. In early May 2014, after a village assessment, Ms. Chau's family received support from various funds, along with assistance from villagers, resulting in a new, sturdy and spacious house. Ms. Chau said: “Before, our family was so poor we barely had enough to eat and pay for medicine, let alone build a house. This year, with support from the government and the community, we are very happy and excited to have a house.”

Returning to visit Mr. Kha Dinh Van's home in Cay Me village, Thach Giam commune. After a year of receiving support to build a "Great Solidarity" house, his family's life has stabilized, and they are now developing their economy; they have learned to access loans to buy livestock and develop a forest garden model. Happiness and warmth have come to Mr. Kha Dinh Van's family in the house they had dreamed of for years. He said: "Thanks to the government's care and support, my family now has a house. There's nothing better than not having to worry about rain and cold anymore, so we must work hard to improve our lives!..."

With the desire to have more resources to help more poor households alleviate difficulties and stabilize their lives, Tuong Duong district launched a campaign to support the "For the Poor" Fund and attracted the active participation of agencies, organizations, and all strata of the people, thereby building many "Great Solidarity" houses. In 2014 alone, the district supported the construction of 4 "Great Solidarity" houses from the "For the Poor" Fund, with a total support amount of over 90 million VND. This is a noteworthy result from many perspectives.
