Eliminate dog theft gang

(Baonghean.vn) - Recently, in Nghe An, dog thieves have fought back against pursuers in many places, causing public outrage. In response to this situation, the Department of Investigation of Social Order Crimes of Nghe An Provincial Police has established a special project to combat dog theft in Nghe An, especially in Vinh City and neighboring districts.

Through the investigation, the Task Force identified the subjects who often gathered at the house of Nguyen Van Son (born in 1958) in Kim Lien hamlet, Nghi An commune. After a period of monitoring the movements of the subjects and conducting an ambush, at about 2:00 a.m. on April 7, when they discovered 2 subjects driving a motorbike carrying 3 dogs to Nguyen Van Son's house, detectives from the Department of Investigation of Social Order Crimes controlled and arrested these 2 subjects along with Nguyen Van Son and his wife on the spot. Then, forces were sent to ambush in front of Nguyen Van Son's house. At about 3:30 a.m., 4 other subjects continued to bring 2 dogs back, the police force arrested 2 subjects and 2 subjects escaped.

The 6 arrested subjects include Nguyen Van Son (born in 1958), Pham Thi Hoa (born in 1963), Son's wife; Nguyen Dinh Hien (born in 1992) and Nguyen Dinh Tuan (born in 1997), all residing in Nghi Hop commune, Nghi Loc; Vo Trung Kien (born in 1992), residing in hamlet 10, Nghi Xa, Nghi Loc; Tran Manh Van (born in 1994), residing in K9, Nghi Tan ward, Cua Lo town. The seized evidence includes 6 dogs, 3 dog fishing rods, 4 motorbikes, 2 swords, 1 scale, and 7 mobile phones. Through the initial investigation, the subjects confessed to having stolen dogs many times in Vinh city, Cua Lo town and Nghi Loc. It is known that at around 10pm, they gathered at Nguyen Van Son's house.

Here, they prepared tools and vehicles including motorbikes, swords, dog fishing rods, and glass bottles. At midnight, they divided into pairs of 2 people and 1 motorbike to go to different areas to steal dogs and then sell them to Nguyen Van Son and Pham Thi Hoa. When discovered, they often used glass bottles to throw and swords to threaten people and authorities. With the above tricks, in the early morning of April 7, the subjects stole 3 dogs in Cua Lo town and 2 dogs in Nghi Dien commune, Nghi Loc.
