6,000 people marched and paraded in celebration of the 40th anniversary of reunification.

On April 13th, at an international press conference announcing activities commemorating the 40th anniversary of the reunification of the country (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2015), the national organizing committee stated that this is an important political and cultural event. The commemoration aims to express deep gratitude and appreciation to the generations who sacrificed their lives and blood for national independence and reunification.

This year's commemoration consists of two parts: a ceremony of offering incense on the morning of April 29th at the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and the Monument to the Heroes and Martyrs in Hanoi, the Ho Chi Minh City Martyrs' Cemetery, and the Ben Duoc Memorial Temple in Cu Chi District in the afternoon of the same day.

At 7:00 AM on April 30th, a solemn rally, parade, and march will be held at the viewing platform on Le Duan Street (District 1) with the participation of approximately 6,000 people from the military, police, civilians, students, and various organizations.

"The parade itself consists of 38 contingents, each comprising 100 members of the armed forces with modern equipment," said Lieutenant General Nguyen Trong Nghia, Deputy Head of the General Political Department.

On the evening of April 30th, a special cultural and artistic program celebrating the holiday, themed "The Nation's Complete Joy," will be held on Le Duan Street, in front of the Reunification Hall, with the participation of over 4,400 artists.

According to Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Truong Minh Tuan, there are currently 597 reporters from 99 media outlets (77 domestic and 11 foreign) registered to cover this event, including 19 foreign reporters.

On behalf of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, Vice Chairman Hua Ngoc Thuan stated that, in addition to coordinating with central ministries and agencies to organize rallies, parades, and marches, the city will also hold high-altitude fireworks displays at eight locations, from 10 PM to 10:15 PM on April 30th.

Specifically at the Bitexco building (District 1); Ben Duoc Martyrs' Memorial (Cu Chi District); Nga Ba Giong Martyrs' Memorial (Hoc Mon District); Lang Le - Bau Co historical site (Binh Chanh District); Can Gio District football stadium; National Historical and Cultural Park (District 9); Dam Sen Cultural Park (District 11) and Go Vap Flower Village Park.
