Provincial leaders congratulated the 25th anniversary of the establishment of Vinh Thanh Major Seminary

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of December 2, a working delegation of the province led by comrade Le Xuan Dai - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee visited and congratulated the Vinh Diocese Bishop's House and Vinh Thanh Major Seminary on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Major Seminary's founding and the ordination ceremony for 25 deacons.

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of December 2, a working delegation of the province led by comrade Le Xuan Dai - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee visited and congratulated the Vinh Diocese Bishop's House and Vinh Thanh Major Seminary on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Major Seminary's founding and the ordination ceremony for 25 deacons.

Accompanying the delegation were comrade Ho Phuc Hop - Provincial Party Committee member, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission; representatives of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, Provincial Police, Provincial People's Committee Office, Religious Affairs Committee - Department of Home Affairs. Receiving the delegation were Mr. Nguyen Van Vien - Auxiliary Bishop of Vinh Diocese and Director of Vinh Thanh Major Seminary and a number of priests from the diocese and the Major Seminary.

Vinh Thanh Major Seminary was established on November 22, 1988 on the basis of the St. Francis Xavier Major Seminary, formerly belonging to Vinh Diocese. Currently, Vinh Thanh Major Seminary is the place to train priests for the two dioceses of Vinh and Thanh Hoa. Through the journey of 25 years of formation and development, Vinh Thanh Major Seminary has become the cradle of training priests for the North Central region including Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh and Quang Binh provinces (up to now, 230 priests have been trained).

On behalf of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, Comrade Le Xuan Dai presented a beautiful flower basket and sent his best wishes to the Bishop of the diocese, the auxiliary Bishop, the priests, professors, seminarians of Vinh Thanh Major Seminary and the parishioners. At the same time, he expressed his hope that the Major Seminary would continue to promote its tradition, train priests with heart, vision, virtue, and talent, increasingly better meet the spiritual life of the parishioners and contribute to building a rich and beautiful homeland. On this occasion, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Xuan Dai was also pleased to inform the auxiliary Bishop and priests about the highlights of the province's socio-economic situation in the past year, in which he affirmed the significant contribution of the parishioners in the province.

In his response, Auxiliary Bishop Nguyen Van Vien expressed his gratitude for the attention and facilitation of the Party Committee and authorities at all levels for the activities of Vinh Thanh Major Seminary as well as Vinh Diocese in the past time. The Auxiliary Bishop hoped that the authorities at all levels would continue to pay attention to resolving some difficulties in some parishes and deaneries and affirmed that the Church would also have the responsibility to cooperate with the authorities to resolve the issues in accordance with the State's policies and laws to soon stabilize the situation.
