32 groups and individuals of the People's Public Security Forces were awarded the title of Hero.

On April 18, in Ho Chi Minh City, the Ministry of Public Security held a ceremony to confer and posthumously award the title of "Hero of the People's Armed Forces" during the resistance wars against France and the United States to collectives and individuals in the People's Public Security Forces.

Authorized by the President, General Tran Dai Quang, Politburo member and Minister of Public Security, awarded the title "Hero of the People's Armed Forces" to 10 collectives and 22 individuals in the People's Public Security force.

Reviewing the achievements of outstanding individuals and collectives awarded the title of Hero, General Tran Dai Quang affirmed that during the resistance war, the People's Public Security Forces overcame numerous difficulties and hardships to build, fight and mature, together with the entire Party, the entire army and the people of the whole country to defeat the two wars of aggression by French colonialists and American imperialists.

In recognition of these outstanding achievements and feats, the Party and State have conferred and posthumously conferred the title of “Hero of the People’s Armed Forces” during the resistance war on nearly 600 collectives and individuals in the People’s Public Security Forces. This is a great source of encouragement for the People’s Public Security Forces to continue to successfully fulfill the task of ensuring political security and social order and safety assigned by the Party, State and people.

General Tran Dai Quang emphasized that entering the period of innovation, each officer and soldier in the People's Public Security force must continue to inherit and promote the revolutionary spirit, regularly train political mettle, fighting spirit, and revolutionary offensive spirit; always stand firm against all attacks from hostile forces and all kinds of crimes, temptations, and negative aspects of the market economy and international integration; promote the heroic and glorious tradition in 70 years of building, fighting and growing, the People's Public Security force actively contributes to the successful implementation of the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.
