The dream of two classic matches between Real and Barca in the semi-finals did not come true. However, fans witnessed an exciting match between two excellent representatives of contemporary attacking football, Barca and Bayern.

Barca have faced Bayern eight times in European competitions and have been somewhat outclassed by the Germans. The Catalans have won just one match, drawn three and lost five. Barca beat Bayern 4-0 in the first leg of the 2008-09 Champions League quarter-finals before drawing 1-1 in Germany. That season, Barca won the title after beating Man Utd in the final.

Meanwhile, Bayern beat Barca 7-0 on aggregate in the 2012-13 semi-finals and then went on to win the title by beating Dortmund in the final.

In this match, Pep Guardiola will have the opportunity to face his old team. The 44-year-old coach is the most successful coach in Barca's history, winning 14 titles in just four seasons in charge. However, Barca is currently trying to erase the mark of the tiki-taka style of play that Guardiola built. His former teammate Luis Enrique is quite successful based on the strength of the trio Neymar, Suarez and Messi. As for Guardiola, he has also succeeded in imposing his philosophy on Bayern, helping the team dominate Germany and develop its strength in Europe. This match will answer the question of whether Barca has escaped Guardiola's shadow or whether the tiki-taka philosophy is still effective after leaving Catalonia.

In the remaining match, Juventus and Real are also an attractive match based on history. The two teams met in the 1997-1998 Champions League final and Real won thanks to the only goal of striker Predrag Mijatovic.

Since the final, Juventus have become Real's nemesis in the Champions League knockout stages. The Turin team eliminated Real in the semi-finals in the 2002-2003 season and in the round of 16 in the 2004-2005 season.

Before the draw, Juventus officials expected to meet Real in the semi-finals and director Pavel Nedved was pleased that this result came true. But this will not be an easy challenge for Juventus as Real are the reigning champions and are eager to break the curse of defending the Champions League title.

The Europa League semi-final pairings were also confirmed at the UEFA ceremony, with Serie A fans looking forward to an all-Italian final as Napoli and Fiorentina do not meet in the semi-finals.
