Caught gambling den in the forest

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of May 22, Quynh Luu District Police said that the unit had recently arrested a number of subjects organizing large-scale gambling in the forest.

Accordingly, from late April to early May, upon receiving reports from the public, in the western communes of Quynh Luu district such as Quynh Thang, Quynh Tan and Tan Thang, a group of people regularly organized gambling. In addition to gathering gamblers from the area, the owner of this casino also connected and colluded with people in other districts such as Nghia Dan, Quy Hop and Quy Chau to organize gambling on a large scale. Through analysis and understanding of the situation, Quynh Luu district police promptly took action and decided to establish a special project coded 515B to combat and eliminate the above location.

Several subjects were arrested in the gambling case in the forest.

After ambushing and monitoring on May 11, the district police task force raided a gambling den in a eucalyptus forest in hamlet 11, Quynh Tan commune (Quynh Luu). When the police force arrived, there were nearly 20 people gambling, however, due to the small force and difficult terrain, many people had fled into the deep forest. At the scene, the task force controlled and arrested 5 people including Ho Sy Son (born in 1983), residing in Quynh Van commune, Quynh Luu district; Ho Duc Hai (born in 1979), residing in Chau Binh commune, Quy Chau; Dang Van Bac (born in 1980), residing in Nghia Hoi commune, Nghia Dan; Ho Trong Thu (born in 1974), residing in Quynh Tan commune, Quynh Luu; Cao Thanh Ngoc (born in 1991), residing in Nghia Phu commune, Nghia Dan.

The evidence seized from the gambling mat was 6,550,000 VND. Searching the arrested subject, the police seized an additional 21 million VND in cash and some related evidence.

Currently, the case is being further investigated by the Quynh Luu District Police to arrest the remaining suspects.
