Repairing damage on the beltway of Thai Hoa town
(Baonghean.vn) - After Baonghean.vn reported that the Thai Hoa town beltway was degraded, the town People's Committee directed the project management board and contractor to take action and promptly repair the damage.
On April 16, Baonghean.vn reported that the Thai Hoa town belt road connecting National Highway 48 through Nghia Thuan, Nghia Long, and Nghia Hoa communes has been paved for more than a year. However, the road through Nam Cat hamlet, Nghia Long commune is increasingly degraded, with many potholes. Recently, people and vehicles passing through Nam Cat hamlet, Nghia Long commune, Nghia Dan district have encountered many difficulties because the road is seriously degraded, has many potholes, and has many curves, so there is a potential for traffic accidents; especially in the middle of the road, there is a large pothole that is more than 2 - 30m long and 0.5m deep. Therefore, cars and motorbikes passing through this road must go to the side of the road or struggle to get through one side of the pothole.
Representatives of the project management board and local authorities inspected the remediation work. |
After Nghe An Electronic Newspaper updated information about the serious degradation of the Thai Hoa town belt road, the Thai Hoa town People's Committee inspected and requested the town project management board and contractors to repair and upgrade the degraded road section above to ensure traffic safety for people and vehicles participating in traffic.
Vehicles and materials are gathered to prepare for asphalt paving. |
It is known that the cause is that the road has underground water but the design consultant has not fully surveyed and evaluated it. In addition, after the road was paved with asphalt concrete, many heavy-duty vehicles have been traveling on the route, causing the project to deteriorate. Currently, all damaged points have been urgently repaired by the contractor using rollers, asphalt paving machines, etc.
Some damaged spots have been compacted, waiting for asphalt pouring. |
Head of the Urban Management Department Nguyen Ngoc Tuan said that after the field inspection, we have directed the contractor to fix it. After completion, we will request the Department of Construction to accept and hand over the project for use. However, there are currently many large-tonnage sand trucks and heavy trucks traveling on Highway 48 and then turning onto this bypass to avoid the weighing station located on Highway 48. Therefore, traffic police and traffic inspectors need to increase patrols and control, strictly handle overloaded vehicles traveling on the route to ensure the quality of the project.
