(Baonghean.vn) - At around 5:00 p.m. on May 22, in Dien Bich commune, Dien Chau district, a tragic drowning incident occurred, killing two cousins.

According to people who witnessed the incident, at the time, two siblings, Pham Van Manh (16 years old), son of Pham Van Thang and Dang Thi Tam, residing in Quyet Thang hamlet, Dien Bich commune, and Pham Thi Oanh (13 years old), daughter of Pham Van Tien and Dang Thi Thanh, residing in Nam Chien Thang hamlet, were going out together.

While playing near a fish pond being renovated to prepare for shrimp farming by Mr. Thai Bai Thong's family (from the same commune), two children accidentally slipped into the pond and drowned.

At 6 p.m., when the incident was discovered, people went down to the pond to pull the two children to shore, but due to drowning, both children died.

It is known that Manh and Oanh are cousins.
