Vietnam Folk Song Festival 2015, North Central Region

(Baonghean.vn) -The Vietnam Folk Song Festival of the North Central Region took place over two days, April 24th and 25th.At the Thua Thien Hue Provincial Cultural and Information Center, many outstanding performances were presented by four folk music troupes from Thua Thien Hue, Quang Binh, Ha Tinh, and Nghe An provinces.

In order to discover and introduce folk songs and music with regional characteristics to audiences nationwide, the Vietnam Folk Song Festival is held every two years to select the best performances. This year, the final round will be held in Nghe An.

The Vietnam Folk Song Festival of the North Central Region features artists from four folk song troupes in the region, showcasing many original folk songs, folk music, and folk dances characteristic of each region.

The festival also provides an opportunity for artisans, artists, and actors to interact, meet, and share experiences, while also giving them a chance to learn more about the culture and land of the Perfume River and Ngu Mountain region.
