Ship sinks in the Red Sea, 70 people died

Seventy migrants from Ethiopia have died after their boat sank off the coast of Yemen.

Yemeni media reported that the boat was on its way to the Red Sea port city of Al-Makhar due to bad weather. In a statement, the Yemeni Interior Ministry said all 70 people on board the ill-fated boat had drowned. All were from Ethiopia.

A Yemeni search and rescue team was deployed in the hope of finding the missing but found no survivors.
