ATP increases prize money to a record high: Win one tournament and live comfortably for a lifetime!

For the first time in history, the prize money for the Association of Professional Tennis Players (ATP) in the upcoming 2015 season will exceed $100 million.

Recently, the ATP announced new prize money levels for the upcoming season, bringing the total prize money for players in all ATP tournaments to over $100 million. The biggest changes came from the ATP World Tour Masters 1000 tournaments (accounting for 14%). Meanwhile, the ATP World Tour 250 tournaments saw only a modest 3% increase. The ATP World Tour 500 tournaments already received increased prize money at the end of last year.

According to ATP leaders, with the current growth and efforts to create an even more competitive atmosphere, by around 2018, the ATP's willingness to spend on prize money could reach $135 million a year. In its latest announcement, the ATP stated: “The recent increase in ATP tournaments is a testament to the long-term existence and success of men's tennis. It also demonstrates the ATP's confidence in its product and long-term plans for the coming years.”

In addition to this event, the ATP has also announced the tournament schedule from the 2016 to 2018 seasons. This indicates that for the next four years, prize money and tournament dates will remain unchanged.
