Awarding the title "Heroic Vietnamese Mother"

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of June 9th, the People's Committee of Tan Ky district held a ceremony to award and posthumously confer the honorary state title of "Heroic Vietnamese Mother".

During the struggles for national liberation and reunification, Tan Ky district had thousands of outstanding sons and daughters who enlisted in the army, including 1,289 who bravely sacrificed their lives, 1,795 wounded and disabled soldiers, and over 1,500 people who participated in the resistance war and whose children were exposed to chemical toxins. Recognizing and expressing gratitude for the invaluable contributions of the mothers and wives of these heroic martyrs, in recent years, guided by the principle of "drinking water, remembering the source," Tan Ky district has implemented many policies to care for the material and spiritual lives of those who contributed to the revolution and Vietnamese Heroic Mothers.

Tan Ky district currently has 42 mothers who have been awarded or posthumously awarded the prestigious title of "Heroic Vietnamese Mother". In this particular round, Tan Ky district has Mrs. Nguyen Thi Hue from Huong Son commune who was awarded the title of "Heroic Vietnamese Mother" and 15 mothers who were posthumously awarded the title of "Heroic Vietnamese Mother".

At the ceremony, authorized by the President of Vietnam, the leaders of Tan Ky district presented the "Heroic Vietnamese Mother" certificate to Mrs. Nguyen Thi Hue and also presented certificates to 15 family members of Heroic Vietnamese Mothers.

On this occasion, the Tan Ky District Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Mr. Do Huu Thien, who works in Ho Chi Minh City, also presented gifts to Heroic Vietnamese Mother Nguyen Thi Hue and 15 family members of Heroic Vietnamese Mothers.
