(Baonghean.vn) - Morning12/5, Provincial People's Committee, DepartmentEducation and TrainingIn collaboration with Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted, the school organized a welcoming ceremony for students who won the Gold Medal at the 2015 Asian Physics Olympiad. Attending the welcoming ceremony were representatives of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, the Department of Education and Training, and leaders of Phan Boi Chau School.

This year’s Asia-Pacific Physics Olympiad took place in Hangzhou, China, with the participation of nearly 30 countries in the region. With 8 students participating, for the first time, the Vietnamese Physics Olympiad team won 2 gold medals at the Asian Physics Olympiad.
In addition, Vietnam also won 3 Silver medals, 1 Bronze medal and 2 Certificates of Merit. After 2 rounds, student Nguyen Ngoc Khanh, class 12A3, Phan Boi Chau High School became the contestant with the highest theoretical score of the Vietnamese delegation and ranked 2nd in the theoretical round. With this result, Khanh excellently won the Gold medal. And this is the 2nd time Khanh won a medal at the Asia Pacific Physics Olympiad.
The welcoming ceremony took place in a solemn and exciting atmosphere.
Director of the Department of Education and Training Nguyen Thi Kim Chi emphasized that Nguyen Ngoc Khanh's success has affirmed the quality of teaching and learning at Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted.
Teacher Nguyen Thi Tho An shared, "The competition in Hangzhou was very difficult, but Khanh tried his best to achieve the highest result for Vietnam."
Success from the Asian Physics Olympiad will help Khanh gain more experience at the International Physics Olympiad in Egypt.
At the welcoming ceremony, on behalf of the industry leaders, comrade Nguyen Thi Kim Chi - Director of the Department of Education and Training sent congratulations to Nguyen Ngoc Khanh, teacher Nguyen Thi Tho An and the teachers and students of Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted.
In this year's exam, although the Vietnamese team encountered many difficulties, difficult exam questions, and competition between large teams, Nguyen Ngoc Khanh and the members of the team still tried their best to bring the highest results for the team. This result contributed to the tradition of studiousness of Nghe An students and once again affirmed that Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted is one of the schools with the best teaching and learning quality in the national high school system.
He also hopes that at the upcoming International Physics Olympiad in Egypt, Ngoc Khanh will continue to promote the results he has achieved to soon bring glory to the country, to his home province and to Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted.
