Ban Ve Hydropower Company: Striving for the nation's electricity supply.

(Baonghean) - During the past term, under the leadership of the Party Committee, Ban Ve Hydropower Company has overcome difficulties, competed creatively in production and business, implemented flexible management and operational measures, and strived to complete and exceed the planned targets assigned by Power Generation Corporation 1 and EVN, contributing to the development of Nghe An province and the construction and development of the Vietnamese electricity industry.

During its term, one of the key tasks that the company's Party Committee focused on leading was the successful implementation of investment, construction, project management, and operation of the Ban Ve Hydropower Plant. After nearly six years of construction on the largest hydropower project in the North Central region, under extremely complex geological conditions and harsh weather, both generating units were officially connected to the national power grid on May 19, 2010, coinciding with the 120th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birth; contributing early to solving EVN's difficulties in providing electricity for the country's economic development. The project was awarded a plaque by the People's Committee of Nghe An province as "A project commemorating the 120th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birth and the 1000th anniversary of Thang Long - Hanoi".

...The Ban Ve Hydropower Company was established in April 2011, undertaking the tasks of production and business, officially participating in the pilot competitive electricity generation market, marking a transition to a market-based operating mechanism. Throughout this process, the management and operation of the Ban Ve Hydropower Plant and Ban Ve Reservoir have been well-prepared, from training and testing of job positions, preparation and drills for incidents and flood control, organization of operation and maintenance, to the completion of procedures and regulations, and the organization of inspection and supervision of operation according to procedures and regulations.

To date, the staff and workers have fully mastered the equipment, managing and operating the plant stably, safely, and efficiently. They participate in bidding for electricity according to the competitive electricity generation market, and the annual electricity generation output consistently exceeds the targets set by the Electricity Group and Power Generation Corporation 1, surpassing the designed capacity. Electricity production in 2011 reached over 1.1 billion kWh/435 million kWh, achieving 253%; in 2012, it reached nearly 1.3 billion kWh/656 million kWh, achieving 200%; in 2013, it reached over 1.220 billion kWh/1.037 billion kWh, achieving 118%; and in 2014, it reached over 1.115 billion kWh/951 million kWh, achieving 120%. The plant also maintains stable annual water level regulation in the reservoir.

After 5 years of operation, the Ban Ve Hydropower Plant reached the milestone of 5 billion kWh of electricity generation, coinciding with the 60th anniversary of the Vietnam Electricity industry. The company paid over 557 billion VND in various taxes from 2010 to 2014 and over 172 billion VND in forest environmental fees. The company's Party Committee paid close attention to leading and implementing national defense work, developing flood prevention and control plans for the downstream area, and regulating reservoir flood releases according to proper procedures, ensuring dam safety at the plant...

Over the past five years, the unit's organizational structure has changed twice. It initially operated as the Project Management Board for Hydropower Plant 2 - Ban Ve Hydropower Joint Stock Company, under the Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN). Then, on April 22, 2011, EVN issued Decision No. 228/QD-EVN approving the establishment of Ban Ve Hydropower Company under GENCO1. In light of this, one of the key tasks prioritized by the Party Committee was personnel management, stabilizing the organizational structure of specialized departments and workshops, ensuring efficient operation, and improving the overall management quality of the entire organization. The unit strictly adhered to the regulations of the Vietnam Electricity Group and Power Generation Corporation 1 regarding personnel promotion and appointment, recruitment, ensuring transparency and democracy, and maximizing the capabilities of its employees. The Party Committee attaches great importance to the training and development of cadres in terms of professional skills, politics, and practical experience, with a focus on promising young people. Attention is also paid to Party development; during the term, 23 outstanding individuals were admitted into the Party.

Stemming from the demands and development of the electricity sector, the Party Committee of Ban Ve Hydropower Company determined that the 2015-2020 term Congress is of great importance, mobilizing the collective intelligence of cadres and Party members to focus on discussing and agreeing on solutions for the Party Committee to lead the company in production and business with the highest efficiency, improve living standards, create a professional working environment for employees; operate safely, accurately and economically to generate electricity most effectively for the plant; ensure security and quality of electricity supply, meeting the requirements of economic development and social welfare... contributing to the socio-economic development of the Western Nghe An region.
