I've done a lot of underwater scenes. But this time, we wanted to create dramatic underwater scenes that happened continuously. It was a really interesting process. We had to stay underwater and hold our breath for 6 to 6.5 minutes. So I had to do some serious training."

Cruise trained for weeks with Kirk Krack, an underwater performance coach, to best prepare for the scenes. "When you participate in Mission Impossible, you have the opportunity to work with top athletes and stuntmen," Cruise excitedly expressed.
