Ministry of Transport requests reduction of transportation fares

The Ministry of Transport has just issued a dispatch on checking the declaration and posting of transportation fares, and implementing fare reductions in accordance with the reduction in fuel prices.

The dispatch stated that since the beginning of 2014, gasoline prices have dropped sharply by about 25%, and oil prices have dropped by about 35% compared to the same period last year. Of which, on December 22, 2014, gasoline prices were adjusted down by 2,050 VND/liter.

The Ministry of Transport requests the People's Committees of provinces and cities to direct the Department of Finance and the Department of Transport to establish inspection teams to review the declaration and posting of fares of transport units in the area; require units to declare and reduce transport fares in accordance with the reduction in fuel prices; resolutely and strictly handle transport units that do not comply with regulations on declaration and posting of fares.
