Thailand will coordinate and support Vietnam in international forums.

On November 27, at the Presidential Palace, President Truong Tan Sang received Thai Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha on the occasion of the Prime Minister's official visit to Vietnam at the invitation of Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung.

At the reception, President Truong Tan Sang welcomed Prime Minister Prayuth's first official visit to Vietnam.

Affirming that Vietnam attaches importance to and is ready to strengthen cooperation with Thailand, the President highly appreciated the results of the talks between the Thai Prime Minister and Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung.

The President affirmed that Vietnam will create conditions for effective cooperation programs between ministries, sectors and businesses of the two countries.

Agreeing with the Thai Prime Minister's proposal to expand cooperation among ASEAN countries in areas of potential and strength, the President believes that Thailand, as a coordinator at regional forums, will contribute to resolving remaining obstacles and building a cohesive ASEAN community.

Conveying his regards to the King of Thailand, the President hoped that through high-level visits and bilateral meetings at multilateral forums, the leaders of the two countries will increase mutual support, cooperation and development, for peace, stability and prosperity in the region.

Thai Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha stated that in the context of many changes in the world and the region, strengthening cooperation between ASEAN members, especially Thailand and Vietnam, is extremely necessary.

The Prime Minister appreciated Vietnam for creating favorable conditions for Thai enterprises to operate in the fields of petroleum, seafood exploitation, and investment and business in Vietnam. The Thai Prime Minister emphasized that with similar historical, social and natural conditions, Thailand and Vietnam need to closely coordinate and form connecting tourism routes between the two countries.

In the spirit of cooperation and removing obstacles, the Thai Prime Minister suggested that the two countries strengthen the connection of existing road and sea routes for effective exploitation.

The Prime Minister emphasized that with the existing foundation of traditional friendship, Thailand and Vietnam will coordinate well and support each other at international forums.
