The bustling Nam Can market

December 31, 2014 16:22

(Baonghean) - At the end of December, we had the opportunity to visit Ky Son again, as planned for the year-end market. The Nam Can market is located next to the border crossing between Vietnam and Laos, and it's held four days a month (on the 14th, 15th, 29th, and 30th). Each market day is like a festival for the people in the border villages of both countries.

People go to the market not only to buy and sell goods and specialties, but also as an opportunity to socialize and meet each other. A diverse range of products made and harvested by people of various ethnic groups are brought to the market.

Towards the end of the year, the Nam Can market becomes even more crowded, and the goods brought by the locals are also more diverse… The bustling buying and selling made us excited to capture images of the Nam Can market at the end of the year…
