Shooting at karaoke bar, 2 people hospitalized

(Baonghean.vn) - At around 7:45 p.m. on December 23, at Duc Loc karaoke cafe, hamlet 12, Nghi Duc commune, (Vinh city), a shooting and brawl broke out, injuring two people who had to be hospitalized.

At the above time, Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh (born in 1979, residing in Nghi Duc commune, Vinh city) was eating and drinking with a group of friends at Duc Loc coffee - karaoke shop when a stranger called Mr. Thanh outside to talk.

When Mr. Thanh approached the two young men outside, suddenly one of them pulled out a gun and fired three consecutive shots at Mr. Thanh, causing him to collapse on the spot.

Hearing the gunshots, Thanh’s group of friends who were eating and drinking jumped in to stop the crime. Two young men ran away from the scene but were surrounded and beaten by Thanh’s group.

The shooting suspect, Tran Van Minh (born in 1972, residing in Nghi Phong commune, Nghi Loc district), was seriously injured and lay unconscious on the spot. The suspect, Tran Van Duc, was arrested by the police.

Immediately afterwards, both Thanh and Minh were injured and quickly taken to the hospital for emergency treatment.

Upon receiving the news, Nghi Duc Commune Police, Vinh City Police and the Department of Investigation of Social Order Crimes (PC45) of Nghe An Provincial Police quickly arrived to block off the scene and investigate the cause of the incident.

Doctors at Nghe An General Hospital said Thanh suffered three gunshot wounds, two in his left arm and one in his abdomen. Suspect Tran Van Minh suffered multiple injuries and a traumatic brain injury.

The case is currently being investigated and clarified by Vinh City Police.
