House on stilts catches fire in Con Cuong.

(Baonghean.vn) - At 8:00 AM on June 21, 2015, a fire broke out in Lam Khe village, Chi Khe commune (Con Cuong district), completely destroying a large five-room stilt house.

The house that caught fire belonged to Mr. Ngan Van Lan and Mrs. Vi Thi Nguyet. That morning, the couple locked the door and went with their two children to have a traditional New Year's meal at a neighbor's house. Around 8 o'clock, a neighbor discovered the fire inside the house and called on the villagers to help.

The five-room wooden stilt house was left standing after the fire.

However, due to the intensity of the fire and the insufficient water supply, it was impossible to extinguish. As a result, the stilt house and many belongings, including a television, refrigerator, tables and chairs, speakers, 9 million VND in cash, and nearly 3 tons of rice, were completely destroyed by the fire. The total estimated damage is over 500 million VND.

Household items were completely burned to ashes.

The initial cause has been identified as an electrical short circuit. Neighbors and local authorities are currently offering support to the family and helping to resolve the issue.
