(Baonghean.vn) - On the occasion of the 97th anniversary of the Russian October Revolution, for the first time, the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Hanoi coordinated with the Central Committee of the Vietnam-Russia Friendship Association and the Association of University Graduates in the Soviet Union and the Russian Federation to organize a roundtable conference with the theme "Vietnam-Russia Educational Cooperation through Social Organizations".

Attending the conference on the Russian side were the Embassy, ​​the International Friendship Cooperation Agency and representatives of universities such as Orenburg University, Far Eastern State University, Rosatom Academy, Tomsk State University, Voronezh Polytechnic University, North Caucasus State University, Gubkin State Oil and Gas University of Russia. Good news for alumni graduating from universities in the former Soviet Union and the Russian Federation is that the Russian Federation's Agency for International Friendship Cooperation (Rossotrudnichestvo) has issued an annual directive to the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Hanoi to coordinate with the Central Committee of the Vietnam - Russia Friendship Association to take November 7, the day of the Russian October Revolution, as the traditional day of Vietnamese alumni graduating from universities in the Soviet Union and the Russian Federation.

The Directive clearly states that the purpose of this decision is to maintain and develop the tradition of cooperation in the field of education and training between the Russian Federation and Vietnam, attract the interest of students to the higher education of the Russian Federation and promote the selection of Vietnamese students to study in Russia, through social organizations such as: Vietnam - Russia Friendship Association from the central to provincial levels, Association of Graduates of Universities in the Soviet Union and the Russian Federation (VINACORVUZ), Association of Teachers of Russian Language and Russian Literature in Vietnam, Vietnam Youth Union.
