Ceremony of appointing abbot and casting bronze bell at Ha pagoda (Phuc Linh Tu)

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of May 26, in Hung Tien commune, Nam Dan district, the Executive Committee of the Buddhist Sangha of Nghe An province and the Board of Trustees of Ha Pagoda held a ceremony to appoint the abbot and cast the Great Bell.

Attending the ceremony were Most Venerable Thich Duc Nghi, Deputy of the Executive Committee of the Buddhist Sangha of Lam Dong province; Most Venerable Thich Tho Lac - Standing Member of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha - Deputy Head of the Executive Committee of the Buddhist Sangha of Nghe An province, along with Venerable monks and nuns residing in monasteries, hermitages, and hermitages in Nghe An province and other provinces and cities nationwide.

Overview of the ceremony

Ha Pagoda was approved by Nghe An Provincial People's Committee to restore its activities in Decision No. 6016/QD - UBND.NC dated December 13, 2013; the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of Nghe An Province appointed Venerable Thich Dong Tue as abbot in Decision No. 93/QD - BTS dated December 3, 2014.

On behalf of the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha Executive Committee of Nghe An province, Most Venerable Thich Tho Lac - Standing Committee Member of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha - Deputy Head of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha Executive Committee of Nghe An province presented the decision to appoint the abbot to Most Venerable Thich Dong Tue.

At the ceremony, the monks and nuns stood up to burn incense and pray to Buddha, purify the air and recite the Great Compassion Mantra to cast the great bell. The bronze pouring ceremony was brief but extremely solemn and dignified.
