Suspected of bankruptcy, a couple commits suicide by detonating explosives.

(Baonghean.vn) - Hearing a loud explosion coming from an empty plot of land, residents rushed out and found the mutilated bodies of Mr. Trung and his wife. Initially, the police believe this was a suicide by detonation.

Around 10:00 AM on June 15th, residents of Block 5, Con Cuong town, Con Cuong district, suddenly heard a loud explosion coming from the Tecco urban area under construction. When they rushed out, they were shocked to discover two mutilated bodies near the fountain.

Upon receiving the report, the Con Cuong town police arrived to secure the scene, awaiting the arrival of their superiors for investigation. The victims were later identified as Mr. Luong Van Trung (40 years old) and his wife, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoi (32 years old), residing in Block 3 of the town.

At the scene, the bodies of Trung and his wife were scattered everywhere, and hundreds of people gathered to observe the incident. Mrs. Phan Thi Ly (60 years old, Trung's mother) wept, lamenting, "Why would they do something so foolish over a debt of only 100 million dong?" According to locals, it's possible the young couple were bankrupt and had suicidal thoughts.

Mr. Lang Van Thang, Chairman of the People's Committee of Con Cuong town, said that the victim's house is located about 300 meters from the scene. The location where the incident occurred is an urban area where infrastructure and roads are being developed for land subdivision and sale. The couple had two daughters; the eldest is in 7th grade, and the youngest is still a child.
