Nghia Dan: Responding to National Action Month on Population 2014
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of December 16, the People's Committee of Nghia Dan district coordinated with the People's Committee of Nghia Loc commune to organize the launching ceremony in response to the National Action Month on Population in 2014.
The National Action Month on Population takes place from December 1 to December 31 with the theme "Controlling population growth rate - for the rapid and sustainable development of the homeland", aiming to promote the participation of the entire political system and the entire population in implementing population and family planning policies at all levels, sectors, and each family on the meaning and importance of population and family planning work for the health and happiness of each person and the sustainable development of the country.

In 2014, the work of population and family planning in Nghia Dan district continued to achieve important results: the birth rate decreased by 2.8%o, the rate of third and higher births decreased by 2.2%, the natural population growth rate decreased by 0.3% compared to 2013. Communication and education work and mobilization for signing commitments to implement the population/family planning policy were strengthened. However, besides the achieved results, the work of population and family planning in the district still faces many risks and challenges: The population size is increasingly large, the quality of the population still has many potential risks, the work of adolescent reproductive health care still has many shortcomings, the rate of gender imbalance at birth is still high.

Immediately after the launching ceremony, members of the District Population and Family Planning Steering Committee, population officials of 25 communes and towns, and officials of mass organizations of Nghia Loc commune participated in a parade on main traffic routes to respond to the National Action Month on Population.
