Prime Minister attends the 7th Mekong-Japan Summit

On July 2, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung led a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation leaving Hanoi to attend the 7th Mekong-Japan Summit, from July 2-4, in Tokyo, at the invitation of Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.

The delegation included Minister and Head of the Government Office Nguyen Van Nen; Minister of Planning and Investment Bui Quang Vinh; Minister of Industry and Trade Vu Huy Hoang; and Minister of Transport Dinh La Thang.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Quoc Cuong; Deputy Minister of Finance Truong Chi Trung; Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen The Thao; Assistant to the Prime Minister Bui Huy Hung also joined the delegation.

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung led the Vietnamese delegation to attend the 7th Mekong-Japan Summit to contribute to promoting Mekong-Japan cooperation in the coming period towards stronger support for socio-economic development of the Mekong sub-region in general and Vietnam in particular.

The Prime Minister's attendance at the Conference affirms Vietnam's commitment and role in Mekong-Japan cooperation; and strengthens friendly cooperation with Mekong sub-region countries.

At the same time, it also aims to strengthen political trust and develop the Extensive Strategic Partnership with Japan more comprehensively and effectively./.
