Quynh Luu District People's Council holds year-end meeting

(Baonghean.vn) - On December 16, 2014, the People's Council of Quynh Luu district, term XVIII, held the 12th session (year-end session) to evaluate the implementation of the resolution of the District People's Council on the socio-economic situation in 2014 and tasks in 2015. According to the report of the district People's Committee, in 2014, Quynh Luu district strives to basically achieve the targets assigned by the People's Council; 24/27 targets have been achieved and exceeded; economic growth rate (GDP according to the new calculation method) increased by 6.8%, of which agriculture - forestry - fishery increased by 6.17%, industry - construction increased by 6.27%, services increased by 8.25%. Total budget revenue is estimated at 112.83 billion VND, equal to 100.7%, budget expenditure is estimated at 662.09 billion VND.

There has been much progress in the cultural and social fields, participating in the Provincial Sports Festival and winning the second prize for the whole delegation, the Nghe Tinh Vi-Giam Folk Song Festival winning high prizes, 2 students achieving university valedictorians, 1 school meeting national standards, bringing the total number of schools meeting national standards to 62, reaching 58%; 3 communes have been recognized as meeting national standards for Health. Quynh Luong commune has been recognized as meeting national standards for New Rural Areas, 4 communes: Quynh Nghia, Quynh Hau, Quynh Thach, Quynh Doi are preparing documents to be inspected and recognized as meeting standards. National defense and security are maintained.

However, Quynh Luu still has 3 targets that have not met the plan: the commune meets national standards on health, national standard schools and the rate of communes completing synchronous cultural and sports facilities, the rate of third child births is still high, and administrative reform has not met requirements.

The meeting will take place on 16-17/2014, the district People's Council delegates will discuss and clarify the reasons for unachieved targets, propose directions and tasks for 2015 and conduct a vote of confidence for positions elected by the People's Council.

At the meeting, the People's Committee of Quynh Luu district awarded the 3rd class Labor Medal to 3 outstanding officials who have made many contributions to the economic - cultural - social development of the district.

According to the decision, 3 comrades including Mr. Le Ngoc Luu - Director of the Political Training Center of Quynh Luu district, Mr. Nguyen Quang Truyen - Chairman of the District Veterans Association, Ms. Ho Thi Khuong - Former Deputy Head of the District Cultural Office were awarded the 3rd Class Labor Medal by President Truong Tan Sang for their many contributions to the economic - cultural - social development of Quynh Luu district.
