Fugitive increases pressure on US politics

(Baonghean) - It is hard to believe that in the middle of the 21st century, a prison break still happens, arranged with an elaborate, detailed, thrilling "grand plan". Everything is like a movie, and the escape scene is no different from a Hollywood film set. However, it is a real story in Mexico, which happened on July 11, not only heating up public opinion, but also heating up American politics.

The fugitive in this major case is none other than drug lord Joaquin Guzman, often called “El Chapo” (the dwarf), famous for his previous spectacular escapes. Joaquin Guzman is the biggest drug lord in Mexico, and is “in solitary confinement” at Altiplano prison, the prison with the highest security system in Mexico. However, it seems that the place with the most special security is just an “opportunity” for the “dwarf” to show off his “tunnel king” skills. Here, after Guzman escaped, the only trace left on the ground was a square hole with a lid. Beneath that square hole was a “grand project” of a 1.5 km long underground tunnel with full ventilation pipes, oxygen tanks, stairs and motorbikes...

Immediately after successfully escaping, the fugitive showed off the "heroic" qualities of a top mafia "godfather" by posting photos of himself drinking beer on a plane on Twitter, and "beating his chest" about his "achievements" in an arrogant, defiant tone.

The incident has embarrassed Mexican security forces. A press conference was held on July 12, with National Security Commissioner Monte Alejandro Rubido reassuring the public that a large-scale manhunt was underway and that prison staff were being questioned.

On July 13, the “dwarf” Guzman really made a fuss on social media by threatening to kill US presidential candidate Donald Trump. The reason the “dwarf” threatened to kill the American billionaire was because during his campaign for the White House, this candidate, while criticizing the current US security policy, said that the US was creating conditions for Mexico to send “rapists and criminals” to the US.

When he heard that the “dwarf” had successfully escaped and threatened to kill him, billionaire Donald Trump did not miss the opportunity to score points with the public. In addition to proposing to build a “great wall” on the border with Mexico, this candidate also made a mockery: “Can you imagine Jeb Bush or Hillary Clinton negotiating with El Chapo?… However, Trump would kick him to the ground!”

Immediately after those statements, the number of Donald Trump supporters skyrocketed. And Donald Trump's name and political activities became more famous. Currently, the public is waiting for the two candidates Jeb Bush and Hillary Clinton to speak.
