Nam Thanh Commune (Nam Dan): Socio-economic development, building a strong political system

(Baonghean) - Implementing the Resolution of the 26th Party Congress of the commune, term 2010 - 2015, Nam Thanh commune (Nam Dan) has made positive changes, many targets have been achieved and exceeded the set plan. That is the motivation for the Party Committee, government and people of the commune to confidently enter the term 2015 - 2020 with many new targets.

During the past term, under the leadership of the Party Committee, the management and administration of the Government, and the efforts of the entire political system and the people, the commune has promoted advantages, overcome difficulties, and achieved many important results. The economy continued to grow at an average rate of 6.8% per year. The budget revenue was estimated at 6,778 billion VND. The average income per capita in 2015 was estimated at 28 million VND, exceeding the congress target (23 - 26.4 million VND).

The national target program on new rural construction in the area has been implemented with attention, contributing positively to changing the appearance of the homeland, up to now achieving 14/19 criteria with 32/39 contents. Over the past 3 years, people have donated 7,972 m2 of residential land, 16 ha of production land, dismantled 170m of fence, cut down 158 trees of all kinds, contributed 3,374 billion VND to build rural roads, intra-field traffic, build synchronous cultural and sports facilities...

In the field of culture and society: The quality of comprehensive education has been improved, the quality of key areas has many positive changes, the rate of students moving up to the next grade and graduating is 99.8%, there is 1 student achieving the title of national excellent student, 46 provincial excellent students, 227 district excellent students, 303 students passing and entering universities and colleges; maintaining and improving the quality of universal primary education at the right age and universal secondary education, completing universal preschool education for 5-year-old children. There are 2 schools meeting national standards. The activities of the Community Learning Center have been effective, the Association for Promotion of Education has been active and has practical significance in promoting learning, promoting talents, building a learning society, arousing the movement of socialization of education, creating a movement of emulation in learning in each hamlet, clan and family.

Health care for the people has made much progress, national programs on health and preventive medicine have been well implemented, at the same time, environmental sanitation and food safety have been regularly done well, propaganda and mobilization of people to eat and live cleanly, use clean water, and prevent epidemics from occurring in the area. Population and family planning work has been regularly focused on, the birth rate in 2015 decreased by 0.5%. The commune has been recognized as meeting national health standards according to the new set of criteria.

Cultural, information and sports activities have made much progress, and the people's cultural and spiritual life has been improved. The movement of the whole people uniting to build a cultural life has received attention; 83% of households have achieved the status of cultural families (the congress target by 2015 is 80.8%). In 2010, 11/17 hamlets met cultural standards, in 2015, 13/17 hamlets have achieved them, accounting for 76.4% (the congress target is 70-75%); cultural and sports institutions have been invested in, and have been basically completed in a synchronous manner.

Social security policies and policies for people with meritorious services were promptly taken care of. From 2011 to 2014, the commune mobilized people to contribute 128 million VND to the Gratitude Fund and mobilized 1,052 million VND from socialization, built 2 gratitude houses and supported upgrading and repairing 58 houses for people with meritorious services to the revolution; built 2 charity houses, 12 solidarity houses, and helped hundreds of families in especially difficult circumstances. Poverty reduction work was focused on, through the Social Policy Bank, preferential loans were considered and resolved annually for 250 to 300 households, the current outstanding debt was 15,418 million VND, the poverty rate by the end of 2014 was 4.8%. Social protection policies are well implemented, labor export is focused, by 2014, the number of trained workers accounted for 36% of the total number of workers in the area.

Entering the 2015 - 2020 term, the Party Committee of the commune continues to strengthen the leadership of the Party, unite, maximize potential strengths, seek support and assistance from superiors, strive to become a commune with fast economic development, progressive social culture, guaranteed national defense and security, strong political system, and build a commune that meets new rural standards by 2018.
