(Baonghean.vn) - On the occasion of the 90th anniversary of Vietnam's Revolutionary Press Day, on June 17, the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists and Nghe An Newspaper organized a ceremony to honor Outstanding Artist for journalist - Photographer Ho Sy Minh, reporter of the News and International Department, Nghe An Newspaper.
Attending the ceremony were comrade Vu Quoc Khanh - Chairman of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists; Major General Tran Tien Dung - Deputy Political Commissar of Military Region IV. On the side of Nghe An province, there were comrades of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee: Le Ba Hung - Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, Dinh Thi Le Thanh - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; comrades of the Provincial Party Committee Executive Committee: Ho Quang Thanh - Director of the Department of Information and Communications, Pham Thi Hong Toan - Party Committee Secretary, Editor-in-Chief of Nghe An Newspaper, representatives of provincial departments, branches and sectors.

This time, the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists honored 5 exceptionally excellent photographers E.VAPA/G (English: Gold Excellence Artist of Vietnam Association of Photographic Artist) - the highest title of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists. Nghe An province honored photographer Sy Minh with this title.

As a member of the International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP), Sy Minh is one of five photographers nationwide honored to receive the title of Outstanding Vietnamese Photographic Artist (E.VAPA/G) - the highest title of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists. To date, nearly twenty artists nationwide have been honored to receive this title. This is an honor for Journalist Sy Minh and also an honor for Nghe An Newspaper and the province, for the first time a journalist and the only photographer from Nghe An has been awarded this noble title.
As a journalist passionate about his profession and growing up in the Party's journalism environment, Sy Minh is always cultivating his moral and professional qualities, constantly learning, always seeking to update his knowledge to improve himself, in life as well as in his career.

From his passion, he passionately chose the composition of each frame, each moment of pressing the shutter. It was the journalism environment that fueled his passion to bear fruit, it was like a launching pad that created conditions for him to develop, helping him reach the grassroots through hundreds of trips to regions, especially remote areas and scenic spots of Nghe An as well as many regions of the country.
In 30 years of photography, journalist and photographer Ho Sy Minh has won more than 80 domestic and international awards such as: The work "Autumn Sun" about the lotus tree at the end of the season "Close to the mud but not smelling of mud" won the C prize - National excellent photo award in 1999, The key economic and industrial zones of Nam Thanh, Bac Nghe are developing, he recorded the image of the conveyor belt carrying stone materials from Hoang Mai town - Nghe An to Nghi Son - Thanh Hoa through the work "Awakening a potential" - Gold Medal at the North Central Art Photography Festival in 2000. "Overcoming fate" - Silver Medal of the 2003 national photo contest.
In 2004, Sy Minh won the first prize in the national Asean photo contest with “Pu Mat primeval forest”; “Fire” - won the Japan International Gold Cup. The historic flood in mid-2010 devastated many villages in Nghe An and Ha Tinh. Sy Minh was present to create the work “Close-up of the flood area” which won the C prize of the 2010 National Press Award. And in 2014, Sy Minh’s work “Studying together” won the Gold Medal at the North Central Art Photography Festival....

Not only published in Nghe An newspaper, Sy Minh also provides quality photo collections about Nghe An for major newspapers in the country and provincial newspapers. Sy Minh's photos are always of good quality, capturing the breath of life, conveying timely information, being well received by the public and highly appreciated by colleagues.
On this occasion, Sy Minh selected 55 outstanding works from thousands of photos he took, which won awards, and were certified by the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists to introduce to the public a photo collection about "The Country and People of Nghe An". These are also excellent works that he took about Nghe An over the past decades, which won awards and were exhibited nationally, internationally, regionally, and in the province. And this is also the second time Sy Minh has launched an Artistic photo exhibition about Nghe An, as a gift of gratitude to his homeland - the place that created the environment for him to grow up.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Comrade Pham Thi Hong Toan - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Party Secretary, Editor-in-Chief of Nghe An Newspaper affirmed: For Nghe An Newspaper, this is an extremely important event to encourage and promote the potential and creativity of journalists and artists to contribute to the development of the agency. She hopes that with the achievements, the knowledge that has been systematically updated and accumulated in practice will help journalist and artist Sy Minh better serve his professional duties, worthy of the titles he has been honored with.
