(Baonghean.vn) - At 7:30 a.m. on May 30, the Party Committee of Vinh University of Technology and Education solemnly opened the 25th Party Congress of the school, term 2015 - 2020.

This is the second grassroots party committee under the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee to hold a congress for the 2015-2020 term.

Attending the congress were representatives of the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs; comrades Le Quang Huy - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Huu Lam - Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Committee; comrade Le Ba Hung - Member of the Standing Committee - Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department; representatives of Party Committees of the Provincial Party Committee; Vinh City Party Committee and universities and colleges in Vinh city.

At exactly 7:30 a.m., the congress began with a performance praising the Party, praising President Ho Chi Minh and praising the homeland and the innovative country. The ceremony at the congress was carried out solemnly and seriously. After the opening speech of Comrade Cao Viet Dung - Party Secretary, Vice Principal of the school, the political report at the congress was read by Comrade Hoang Thi Minh Phuong - Deputy Party Secretary, Principal of the school, affirming: In the 2010 - 2015 term, implementing the Resolution of the 24th Party Congress, the Party Committee of the school has focused on leading the implementation of the school's key political tasks related to training and scientific research.

School organizations and unions sent flowers to congratulate the congress.

Notably, the school has opened 2 more majors for master's degree in engineering; 4 majors for university level training; 7 occupations for vocational training level. Along with that, the school is also permitted by the Ministry of Education and Training to organize joint training from vocational secondary school to university in 5 majors and from college to university in 5 majors. In training, the school has focused on innovating content and programs, including applying 10 university programs, 12 college programs according to the credit system; issuing 17 vocational college training programs.... The annual enrollment results always exceed the target.

Currently, the school has more than 7,000 students at the master's, university, college and vocational college levels. International cooperation programs in training, improving qualifications and professional skills for staff and lecturers; improving training quality and opening up job opportunities for students are expanded and promoted. The school has had many solutions to improve training quality, training associated with finding and solving jobs after training for students. School management, training quality management, and student management have many positive changes.

Party building work is increasingly becoming more systematic; attention is paid to political and ideological education associated with the implementation of Directive 03 of the Politburo on continuing to promote studying and following the moral example of Ho Chi Minh, contributing to raising political awareness, ideology, and moral qualities among cadres, lecturers, employees, and students. Focus on innovating organizational and personnel work in the direction of appropriate arrangement and assignment; recruiting highly qualified cadres and lecturers associated with focusing on training, fostering, and improving the qualifications of on-site cadres and lecturers. Currently, the school has a total of 320 cadres, lecturers, and employees, including 21 PhDs and 177 masters.

In addition, the political report also frankly pointed out the shortcomings and limitations. That is, some training programs are not close to social reality. Scientific and technological research activities are not commensurate with the staff, facilities, and equipment that the school currently has and the effectiveness is not high. In the work of Party building, there are still some limitations, such as not proactively grasping the current ideology of cadres, lecturers, and employees to promptly resolve. Development work has not achieved the set targets. The quality of party activities is sometimes not high, limiting thematic activities...

Based on a close assessment of the implementation of the Resolution of the Party Congress of the School for the 2010-2015 term, the political report also clearly stated that the highest goal for the 2015-2020 term is to gradually build Vinh University of Technical Education into a national key technical pedagogical university; combine training and scientific research, apply technology transfer, science and technology into practice; build a clean and strong Party organization.

The delegates discussed and agreed on the direction, goals, tasks and solutions of the Party Committee of Vinh Technical Pedagogical University for the 2015 - 2020 term. In terms of direction, focusing on improving the leadership capacity and fighting strength of the Party organization and Party members; promoting intelligence and overall strength, implementing fundamental and comprehensive innovation in education and training; promoting the scale of training in a reasonable manner; focusing on improving the quality of training and scientific research; expanding and improving the effectiveness of international cooperation; building a sufficient number of staff, ensuring quality, and appropriate structure; improving the effectiveness of management work; strengthening facilities, gradually building Vinh Technical Pedagogical University into a national key Technical Pedagogical University.

Speaking at the congress, comrade Le Quang Huy - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee highly appreciated the leadership and direction of the Party Committee of Vinh University of Technology and Education in the past term and this is the basis to strengthen the belief for the school to continue to develop in the development path in the next 5 years.

Comrade Le Quang Huy - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee gave a speech directing the congress, requesting that the Party Committee of the school, in addition to leading the implementation of political tasks, should focus on leading and improving the quality of work in building a clean and strong Party.

The Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee also requested the congress to seriously evaluate and clearly analyze the causes of shortcomings and limitations in order to have solutions to overcome them, determined to bring Vinh University of Technical Education to innovate, develop comprehensively and firmly. In particular, it is important to pay attention to improving the quality of training majors, meeting the increasing needs of society; focusing on building the brand of technical pedagogy and newly opened majors; improving the quality of practical and experimental teaching, linking training with scientific research, applying technical technology into practice; promoting joint activities with businesses, localities, units inside and outside the province to improve the quality of training and employment after training. The Congress voted to approve the list of candidates for the election of the Party Executive Committee of the school, term XXV.

In the remaining working program on the morning of May 30, the congress conducted personnel work and agreed on the election list for the Party Executive Committee of Vinh University of Technology and Education, term XXV, 2015-2020, including 19 comrades to elect 15 comrades with sufficient capacity, prestige, responsibility, and ability to lead and carry out the tasks of the Party Committee in the new term.
