Nghia Dan: Organizing a memorial service for Heroic Vietnamese Mother Ha Thi Diep

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of December 19, the District Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Fatherland Front Committee of Nghia Dan district held a memorial service and burial ceremony for Vietnamese Heroic Mother Ha Thi Diep.

Heroic Vietnamese Mother Ha Thi Diep was born in 1937, in Dien Hai commune, Dien Chau district, Nghe An, residing in Song Lim hamlet, Nghia Loc commune (Nghia Dan), former member of the Women's Committee of Dien Hai commune, Dien Chau, now a member of the Women's and Elderly Association of Nghia Loc commune. Mother Ha Thi Diep had 2 people sacrificed in the resistance war against the US to save the country. On October 8, 2014, Mother was awarded the title of Heroic Vietnamese Mother by the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, a noble title of the Party and State in recognition of the great contributions of Mother and her 2 children who sacrificed for the cause of national liberation and reunification.

After a period of serious illness, Mother passed away at 4:55 a.m. on December 19, 2014, at the age of 97. This afternoon, Mother's coffin was brought to Song Lim cemetery. Mother has gone to the eternal world, leaving behind endless sorrow in the hearts of all people.
