Nghia Dan: Memorial service held for Vietnamese Heroic Mother Ha Thi Diep
(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of December 19th, the Nghia Dan District Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Fatherland Front Committee organized a memorial service and burial for Heroic Vietnamese Mother Ha Thi Diep.

Heroic Vietnamese Mother Ha Thi Diep was born in 1937 in Dien Hai commune, Dien Chau district, Nghe An province, and resides in Song Lim hamlet, Nghia Loc commune (Nghia Dan district). She was formerly a member of the Women's Executive Committee of Dien Hai commune, Dien Chau district, and is currently a member of the Women's and Elderly Association of Nghia Loc commune. Mother Ha Thi Diep lost two children in the resistance war against the US to save the country. On October 8, 2014, she was awarded the title of Heroic Vietnamese Mother by the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, a prestigious title from the Party and State recognizing her immense contributions and the sacrifices of her two children for the cause of national liberation and reunification.
After a period of serious illness, Mother passed away at 4:55 AM on December 19, 2014, at the age of 97. This afternoon, her remains were taken to Song Lim Cemetery. Mother has departed to the eternal realm, leaving behind immeasurable sorrow in the hearts of all the people.
