Raped after meeting online on Zalo

(Baonghean.vn) - On June 27, Cua Lo Town Police said they were detaining Nguyen Dinh Thanh (born in 1985), residing in Phong Thinh Commune, Thanh Chuong District, for rape.

Previously, as a tourist staying in Cua Lo town, Ms. Nguyen Thi L (born in 1986), residing in Hanoi, met a man about 30 years old on Zalo, who introduced himself as a restaurant worker in the area. After many days of chatting, the subject arranged to meet Ms. L at Tan Dai Duong hotel in block 3, Nghi Huong ward, then drove her along the road to Cua Hoi. When the two arrived at the protective forest area in Nghi Hoa ward, Cua Lo town, after sitting and talking on the sand, taking advantage of the fact that no one was around, the subject restrained and raped her.

After receiving the report, Cua Lo Town Police deployed forces and used professional measures to urgently arrest Nguyen Dinh Thanh at around 1:00 p.m. on June 20 in Nghi Yen Commune, Nghi Loc District.

At the police station, Nguyen Dinh Thanh confessed that because they met online, on June 19, after being asked by Ms. L to buy seafood to bring home. However, Thanh did not take Ms. L to buy seafood but took her to Cua Hoi and committed rape. The police are currently handling the case in accordance with the law.
