At 3 PM this afternoon, candidates began their English exam. With only 60 minutes allotted, many worried that the time would be too short to complete the test. However, outside Le Viet Thuat High School, with nearly 20 minutes remaining, many candidates had already left early. Excitement was evident on their faces.

Speaking about this year's exam, Nguyen Tuan Anh, a 9th-grade student from Truong Thi Secondary School, said: "I found this year's exam to be at a suitable level for students. Although the exam covered all the knowledge from the secondary school curriculum, the questions were not too difficult, closely following the content in the textbooks. The easiest questions were those related to pronunciation, writing the correct form of words and verbs, and rewriting sentences with equivalent meanings."

The English exam was assessed as being closely aligned with the curriculum, not too difficult, even for candidates with average academic ability.

Candidate Le Ngoc Tu, a 9th-grade student from Le Mao Secondary School, expressed regret for missing one question, suggesting she might only get 9.75 points in English. Tu also stated that this year's English exam was easier than the mock exam at her school, and that she made a mistake in one question related to vocabulary and verbs due to carelessness. In Tu's exam room, the other candidates performed quite well, with approximately 80% completing the exam as required.

This year's English exam consists of 6 questions covering reading comprehension, grammar, multiple-choice questions, and combines elements of both written and multiple-choice sections. The questions are not overly difficult and are easy to understand, making it easy for candidates to complete the exam. Regarding the exam design philosophy this year, Mr. Vo Van Mai, Head of the Secondary Education Department of the Department of Education and Training, stated that the department's policy is to create exams that closely follow the curriculum in the textbooks, adhere to the knowledge and skills standards, aim to identify students' abilities, and have a high level of differentiation. Previously, during the review process, the Department also requested schools to focus on completing the teaching program according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training; conduct objective and accurate student assessments; and guide students in reviewing and mastering the knowledge and skills needed for the exam.
