Focus on combating drought to support daily life and production.

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of June 8th, under the chairmanship of Comrade Tran Hong Chau - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee held an online meeting with the Secretaries of the district, city, and town Party Committees and affiliated Party Committees to hear the results of the tasks performed in May and to implement the tasks for June 2015. Attending the meeting were Comrade Le Quang Huy - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, members of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, and leaders of provincial departments and agencies.

In May, the entire province focused on directing farmers to harvest the spring crop and implement the 2015 summer-autumn crop. Industrial production, while showing signs of recovery, was slow, and businesses faced numerous difficulties. External relations and efforts to attract investment continued to receive attention. The socio-cultural sector saw many positive developments; localities actively directed the National High School Graduation Examination, and national defense and security remained stable.

In May 2015, Party committees focused on directing grassroots-level Party congresses and pilot congresses of four higher-level Party organizations, including: Tuong Duong, Que Phong, Quynh Luu, and the Provincial Military Command.

Comrade Nguyen Huu Lam - Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Department, discussed the work of party congresses at all levels.

Regarding the implementation of Notice No. 1483 - TB/TU dated May 13, 2015, from the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee concerning the content of the May 2015 monthly meeting, the districts, cities, towns, and sectors have promptly carried out the tasks.

At the conference, districts and cities reported on the implementation of their local tasks in May. They also requested the province to address local issues such as: prolonged severe drought causing localized water shortages, and low water levels in reservoirs affecting production and people's lives. The province needs to direct irrigation units to organize canal dredging, provide irrigation water for production, prioritize funding for irrigation projects, and provide financial support to localities to combat drought.

Meeting participants also requested that the province address financial difficulties in implementing projects according to the province's investment plan; review, adjust, and allocate funds for the Party Congress; implement personnel policies after the Congress; difficulties and obstacles in the process of organizing the Party Congress in agricultural and forestry farms; and the issue of overloaded vehicles on National Highway 7, causing difficulties in management and traffic flow on the roads…

Comrade Hoang Viet Duong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - responded to the proposals from localities regarding the transformation of agricultural and forestry farm models.

Comrade Nguyen Van Do - Director of the Department of Planning and Investment - answered questions from localities regarding the allocation of funds for projects.

Concluding the conference, Comrade Tran Hong Chau, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, acknowledged and highly appreciated the results of the tasks performed by the localities. He noted that localities should focus on implementing key, breakthrough projects to create a significant impact ahead of the 18th Provincial Party Congress and towards the 12th National Party Congress. Attention should be paid to overcoming difficulties and drought, focusing on summer-autumn crop production; Party committees at all levels should flexibly transform the structure of crops and livestock to suit natural conditions, overcoming difficulties for the people in the current situation, especially in social welfare. Localities should pay attention to organizing the National High School Graduation Examination well and effectively. They should also promote tourism activities, focus on fire prevention and control, and prevent summer diseases. Complaints and denunciations, and emerging issues at the grassroots level should be resolved. Furthermore, lessons learned from grassroots-level congresses should be used to prepare for higher-level congresses.

Regarding the suggestions and proposals from the districts and cities at the briefing session, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee will direct the relevant departments and agencies to resolve them.
