Humans could live on a second "Earth".

Despite having nearly twice the gravity of Earth, the planet Kepler-452b—dubbed the "second Earth"—is perfectly suited for human habitation.

The Independent quoted NASA scientist Jon Jenkins as saying that humans are capable of "adapting" to gravity, and if they lived on the planet Kepler-452b, their bodies would "gradually grow larger with each generation."

"Humans can adapt to gravity because the human body is designed to do so. The human body has an amazing ability to improve itself over time and adapt to its surroundings," Jenkins said.

The star Kepler-452 on which the planet Kepler-452b resides is slightly larger than our Sun, and the heat that Kepler-452b receives from this star not only means that Kepler-452b will be slightly warmer than Earth, but also implies that life could potentially thrive there.

Furthermore, plants—an essential element that provides the air we breathe through photosynthesis—may also exist on the planet Kepler-452b.

Jenkins stated, "The light from the star Kepler-452 is very similar to sunlight on Earth, and plants could photosynthesize on Kepler-452b just as they do on Earth."

"Humans could feel right at home, and they could get a tan if they sunbathed on the planet Kepler-452b," Jenkins asserted.

Sharing this view, Dr. Daniel Brown, an expert at Nottingham Trent University, stated: “The planet Kepler-452b receives the same intensity and spectrum of light as on Earth. This means that Earth-based plants could thrive there, and humans could absolutely get a healthy tan if they vacationed there.”
