The Chay River - Dark Cave zipline has been recognized as a Vietnamese record.

On the afternoon of July 9th, Mr. Le Thanh Loi, Director of the Phong Nha - Ke Bang Tourism Center, announced that the Chay River - Dark Cave Zipline has been recognized by the Vietnam Record Organization as the longest two-cable free-rope zipline system in Vietnam.

The zip-line tourism product was built, installed, and put into operation in 2014. This is a relatively new type of service for tourists visiting Quang Binh. With the zip-line, visitors will experience the thrill of crossing a 400m long river, starting from the western branch of the Ho Chi Minh Trail and entering the Dark Cave located on the opposite bank of the Chay River.

With a length of 400m, the zip-line will give visitors an extreme thrill.

Dark Cave, 5,258 meters long, was discovered in 1990. Its entrance is 20 meters wide and 40 meters high. The cave is both a water cave and a dry cave, reaching a height of 80 meters. After crossing the emerald green Chay River via rope swing, visitors can enjoy the refreshing coolness emanating from the cave entrance. Afterwards, visitors can swim through cool streams, climb wooden steps, and navigate narrow passages through massive stalactites and stalagmites dating back millions of years.

Visitors to this place will experience an incredibly exciting feeling when participating in the journey to explore the Dark Cave, immersing themselves in the soft mud as a health treatment. Furthermore, with the zip-line service, visitors will experience a thrilling sensation.

Along with the zipline, visitors can also immerse themselves in the cool, fresh mud.

Mr. Phan Thanh Nhien, a mountaineer who successfully conquered Mount Everest in Nepal in May 2008, shared that the Chay River - Dark Cave Zipline in Quang Binh has a beautiful and harmonious setting and deserves to be an extremely attractive destination for those who like to conquer and explore.

With its attractive zip-line service, the Dark Cave tourist route is increasingly popular with both domestic and international tourists. In the first six months of 2015, the route welcomed 15,023 visitors, an increase of 178% compared to the same period. From September 2014 to the present, it has welcomed approximately 30,000 visitors, including nearly 25,000 international tourists, and has been highly appreciated by both domestic and international visitors.

As part of the art program: “Phong Nha – The First Wonder of the Cave”, on the evening of July 29, 2015, the Vietnam Record Organization will directly present the certificate of recognition for this site.
