Dissemination of the Law on Organization of Local Government and the Law on Public Investment

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of August 25, the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council held a conference to disseminate the Law on Organization of Local Government and the Law on Public Investment to the Standing Committees of the People's Councils of districts, cities, towns and delegates of the Provincial People's Council.

Comrade Nguyen Xuan Son - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council chaired the conference.

Conference overview

At the conference, comrade Bui Nguyen Suy - Deputy Head of the People's Petition Committee of the National Assembly Standing Committee conveyed the basic contents and new points of the Law on Organization of Local Government in 2015. In which, it affirmed that the model of local government organization in administrative units includes People's Council and People's Committee, and at the same time ended the pilot implementation of not organizing People's Councils of districts, wards, since the Law took effect on January 1, 2016.

The Law on Organization of Local Government 2015 clearly stipulates 6 principles for the division of authority, cases of decentralization, delegation of authority, and delegation of authority between the Central Government, localities, and between local government levels. At the same time, there are 4 basic new points on the tasks and powers of local governments compared to the Law on Organization of People's Councils and People's Committees 2003.
