Mr. Nguyen Hong Ky - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Department of Transport said: In the past, the work of traffic management structure has encountered many difficulties such as: capital for regular maintenance of road and bridge works, although increased, has not met the demand; the number and load scale of transport vehicles has increased rapidly, ... causing great impact on traffic works. However, due to proactive prevention, active direction and close coordination with localities, there has been no prolonged congestion, the road grade has been maintained and the quality of the roadbed, road surface and works on the National Highway has been gradually improved.

The transport sector has effectively implemented the program to prevent road surface degradation, standardize the road and waterway sign system, and actively direct the management, maintenance and repair work. The Department also regularly directs, urges, inspects and guides the maintenance of the district road system, and directs and coordinates the work of ensuring traffic on centrally managed roads in the province.

Along with that, the management of traffic safety corridors has always been focused on, patrolling, controlling, and detecting violations has been strengthened; the coordination between the Department, management units, and localities has had many changes. Flood and storm prevention work continues to receive attention and direction. Plans have been developed and inspection teams established for flood and storm prevention work in 2015.

  • In the first 6 months of 2015, the Road Maintenance Fund collected about 1.7 billion VND in road usage fees for motorbikes and scooters (reaching about 12.3% of the assigned budget, due to the late issuance of the Decision on assigning the 2015 toll collection budget), received 28.5 billion VND in road traffic career funding from the provincial budget, 68.7 billion VND from the Central Road Maintenance Fund.
