Sharing difficulties with patients with congenital anemia

(Baonghean.vn)- In order to share the difficulties with patients with thalassemia who have difficult family circumstances, on July 22, representatives of the National Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation, the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion, leaders of the Nghe An Department of Health, the provincial Red Cross Society and representatives of the sponsor CP Vietnam visited and presented gifts to patients being treated at the provincial Hematology and Blood Transfusion Center.

The delegation presented gifts to patients with congenital anemia being treated at the hospital.

The delegation presented 15 gifts to patients in particularly difficult circumstances. These are patients with Thalassemia – congenital hemolytic disease. It is a chronic anemia, caused by hemolysis, inherited from parents to children.

It is known that the Provincial Hematology and Blood Transfusion Center treats about 90 patients each year, each year they need 6-7 treatment sessions with a total cost of nearly 30 million VND for each treatment session. Most of the patients are people with difficult family circumstances, living in remote areas, traveling far and difficult.
