Coming to Tan Long commune today, the rural appearance of the locality has improved a lot. The innovation is clearly shown in that most of the inner-village roads have been concreted, the cultural house of the hamlet has been built spaciously... The corn and sugarcane fields are green, the immense rubber gardens are in their prime, bringing prosperity to the people. Comrade Vo Song Quyen - Chairman of the Commune People's Committee happily said: After the Commune Party Congress, Tan Long continued to promote the movement to build new rural areas based on the results after 4 years of implementation, mobilizing nearly 23 billion VND in direct investment to complete the criteria, of which the central budget is more than 1 billion VND; the provincial and district budgets are nearly 2 billion VND; mobilized money from the people is more than 4 billion VND; mobilized contributions from the community is nearly 3.5 billion VND... along with more than 6 thousand working days to build roads.
Currently, the locality is pouring concrete on some of the last sections of the hamlets and the road running through the commune People's Committee headquarters, which is over 400 m long. With that capital, Tan Long has invested in many items and criteria. As of July, Tan Long has completed 16 NTM criteria, and the remaining 3 criteria: traffic, clean water, - environment and cultural facilities are on track to achieve the determination to "reach the finish line" of building NTM this year.

Talking about the solution to complete each criterion, the Chairman of the Commune People's Committee added: Regarding the rural road criteria, people have long agreed on contributing money to buy sand and gravel to pour concrete, the important issue is that the state supports cement in a timely manner. Regarding the clean water - environment criteria, it is very difficult to build a clean water plant to serve the people, because it requires high investment sources and the people's contribution is limited. Therefore, the local solution is to propagate and mobilize each family to invest in buying a water filter for home use. Currently, most households have built rainwater tanks and dug wells, so the water source is guaranteed to be clean.
In order for people to access quality water purifiers, the local government is inviting a consulting unit to the commune to organize propaganda and popularize the use of some reputable water purifiers on the market. This solution has been accepted and responded to by the people. As for the cultural criteria, the locality is waiting for Tan Long hamlet to be recognized as a cultural hamlet in the recent past. Over the past years, the people of Tan Ho hamlet have strived, and up to now, the hamlet has achieved in all aspects, meeting the conditions for the levels and sectors to recognize it as a cultural hamlet.
Coming to Tan Ho hamlet, the hamlet chief Nguyen Dau An shared many specific things that the people here have done. Implementing the State's policy on expanding and pouring concrete on the village roads, after the State supported cement, the hamlet held a meeting to discuss the route plan, and if there was any problem, the family would voluntarily dismantle the fence. For example, in the first phase of 2015, Tan Ho hamlet was allocated 110 tons of cement, poured concrete on some 588m long road sections, there were 2 families who voluntarily dismantled the fence, Mr. Nguyen Van Nho and Mr. Hoa Hong Duong; both of these families also donated a lot of garden land.
Mr. Nguyen Van Nho confided: “My family realizes that expanding the road is first and foremost for our own enjoyment, so when the village raised the issue, I did not hesitate, I was ready to remove the fence for the village to expand the road”. The dedication of the people has made the roads of the village wider, straighter, and more open. Now in Tan Ho village, motor vehicles can roll on clean, beautiful, safe, and convenient concrete roads. Village chief Nguyen Dau An confidently said: Coming here, along with the state's support for cement, the villagers are willing to contribute money to buy sand, gravel, and rent machines to complete the last concrete roads. With a concrete road to the village, the villagers cannot help but be excited, but even more joyful is that the villagers are looking forward to being recognized by the State as a cultural village in the last months of this year.
Thus, Tan Long’s efforts to “reach the finish line” of 19/19 NTM criteria in 2015 are in line with reality. However, according to the Chairman of the Commune People’s Committee, the State should continue to support cement for people to build roads. At this time, farmers have finished harvesting their crops, so they have free time, which is an opportunity for Tan Long to soon complete the concreting of the last concrete roads.
The spirit of preparing to receive the new rural commune and celebrate the 20th anniversary of the commune's establishment has sparked many exciting emulation movements in Tan Long, with many practical activities in all fields. Tan Long's striving goals today are the foundation for the locality to build an increasingly prosperous homeland in the future.
