According to the latest investigation by the Daily Mail, Premier League players are receiving the highest salaries in the world, far surpassing other top leagues such as La Liga or Bundesliga.

According to figures published by the Daily Mail, the average Premier League player earns £2.3 million a year, or more than £43,700 a week. This figure is 60% higher than the second-placed Bundesliga.
In Germany's top flight, each striker earns an average of £1.46m a year, or more than £28,000 a week. Serie A comes in third with £1.3m a year, or more than £25,000 a week.

Of the 34 leagues surveyed, the Nigerian national championship has the lowest player salaries, at just £130/week. If compared to the top league, the Premier League, the difference is a whopping 336 times.
The report also reveals the average revenue of a club in each league. This figure is of course directly proportional to the wages each team pays to its “workers” – its players. With an annual income of up to £150 million, it is no surprise that the Premier League treats its football stars so well.
